process of putting together a Jobsite Theft Summit that will include officials
from all of the major hotspots in our region. However, it is
urgent that we know what you have experienced in jobsite
theft prior to finalizing our plans (i.e. What is it costing you
in security costs? In stolen goods? And in total damage?). Please
submit your stories, pictures and information by Wednesday, September

The City of
Houston
is looking for a
Residential Project Manager to help manage the Land Assembly Redevelopment
Authority (LARA) RFP Construction Program. The position is a full time city
employee, reporting to the mayor with responsibilities for managing and
coordinating activities between builders, community development corporations and
city departments as they relate to LARA lot development
program.

State law
stipulates that residential builders and remodelers may not lawfully operate as
a builder or remodeler in Texas unless
they hold a certificate of registration from the Texas Residential Construction
Commission. Beginning on September 18, 2006, the City of
Houston
will require builders and remodelers to
enter their TRCC registration numbers on all applicable residential permit
applications.

The "2007 GHBA Marketing
Guide" will include a comprehensive and detailed list of all
the association events and sponsorship opportunities throughout the
year. Members can use this new tool to set their 2007 marketing
budgets, and as a
reference throughout the year. It will also be useful for new
members looking for the best way to get more involved in the
association.

The Greater Houston Builders Association is a trade organization whose members are involved in the development, homebuilding and remodeling industry in seven counties. At the current rate of building, the industry contributes some 100,000 jobs and approximately $8 Billion dollars to the local economy and jurisdictions annually.
